The future framework for capital markets in Europe: dinner with Steven Maijoor, ESMA
Since the financial crisis the European Commission has launched more than 40 significant reforms of banking and finance in Europe. As the fallout from the crisis begins to settle, the industry, the Commission and the European Securities and Markets Authority are keen to reflect on the future framework of capital markets.
This private dinner for senior executives from across the capital markets will focus on:
– the priorities for the next five years ESMA
– the next steps for Mifid II and capital markets union
– the proposed review into the cumulative impact of reforms since the crisis.
Steven Maijoor is chairman of ESMA. He is one of the most senior policymakers in European financial markets and was a distinguished finance academic before entering the world of regulation and supervision.
