Women in financial services: beyond the Gadhia Review (take 2)
Due to overwhelming demand we are re-running this diversity breakfast to discuss implementing the recommendations of the Gadhia review into women in financial services, and what it means to be a Women in Finance charter signatory.
It will include discussion of the following themes:
Signing the charter
– How have the Gadhia recommendations been received in your company?
– Has the reception varied by seniority and business line?
– What does your company understand that the charter requires?
– Does your company intend to become a charter signatory?
Applying the principles of the charter
– Which parts of the charter have been or are proving to be the most challenging: setting targets, communicating those targets publicly, choosing an accountable executive, or linking diversity targets to variable pay?
– How is your company overcoming these challenges?
– Is there willing at board/exco level to work towards best practice of just the bare minimum in complying with the charter requirements?
The impact of the Gadhia report and charter
– Has the Gadhia report and the charter prompted discussions at the highest levels within your company?
– Has the report’s findings influenced your company’s strategic plan for diversity and how it is communicated externally/internally?
– Do you believe becoming a charter signatory will drive permanent sustainable change in your organisation and the industry as a whole?
New Financial believes that diversity in its broadest sense is not only an essential part of running a sustainable business but also a fundamental part of addressing cultural change in capital markets.
