'Brexit: the view from Brussels' with Kay Swinburne MEP
16 October 2018
EU & UK capital markets
This is the latest in our series of Brexit events focusing on the perspective of the rest of the EU. With the clock ticking on the final stages of the Brexit negotiations with the EU, we are delighted to welcome back Kay Swinburne MEP to discuss 'Brexit: the view from Brussels'.
The discussion will focus on what the UK can expect from the negotiations and (potential) ratification process ahead, the political mood in the European Parliament and European Commission in the final stages of the negotiations, and the remaining political, practical and institutional obstacles ahead.
About Kay Swinburne
It’s hard to think of anyone in Brussels with a more encyclopaedic knowledge of financial regulation and the inner workings of the EU than Kay. A former banker, Kay has been the Conservative MEP for Wales since 2009, and is an influential member of the ECON Committee, on which she acts as the European Conservatives and Reformists Group's co-ordinator. She is the UK Conservative spokesperson on economic and monetary affairs, and a member of the delegation for relations with Switzerland and Norway - which may come in useful in the next few years.
