6 February 2025
EU & UK capital markets
This virtual event will be an opportunity to discuss the busy year ahead in European capital markets policy and reform.
Likely topics of the open-ended discussion will include:
the priorities of the new European Commission
the progress of the UK reform programme
CMU 3.0 and the future of the capital markets (or: the savings and investment union)
unlocking long-term capital in Europe
the potential impact of political uncertainty and a new US administration on the EU’s biggest economies
and the prospects for closer cooperation between the UK and EU.
Speakers at the event include (with more to be confirmed):
Stephen Fisher - global head of government & public affairs, Deutsche Bank AG
Victoria Kelly - chief of staff and head of public policy, Fidelity International
Louise Mogensen - director general, Danish Financial Supervisory Authority
As usual, it will be a moderated discussion held under the Chatham House rule, and we will circulate a thematic summary after the event. We expect participants to be a combination of regulators, government officials, frontline executives and policy specialists from across the capital markets and across Europe.
